Aly

I am Aly Curtis. It's still kind of strange to say. I was Aly Brown for 22 years. I guess I should embrace the newness because I keep hearing I'll get used to it one day.

I was born and raised in South Texas where I learned to appreciate live music, being outside, Dr. Pepper, and the San Antonio Spurs. I grew up with three older brothers (yes, it was character building) and parents that loved each other. They're still together over 30 years later. I am fully aware of how lucky I am to have their example.

I love writing, singing, and being close to the people I love. I don't have a dog, but I want one. I love baking and dancing. I like to meet new people and read American Literature. I got my Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communications from Baylor University, yet I feel educationally inferior to my husband because he has a Master's degree from Columbia.

That's where this journey began. Marriage is a funny thing. You grow up thinking of it as happily ever after, then you see it get twisted up in our culture, but once you're in it? You see they were all wrong.

When I embarked on this journey, I wasn't entirely positive what I was getting into. I knew I was in love and that my fiancé had every quality that I ever wanted. The wedding day came and went, but the man I committed to stuck around. I've never been happier, and I'm learning something new every day. So here we go.
