Ease of preparation is important during our busy week. If it’s easy to make, I’m already halfway sold on the recipe. Mornings were especially hectic when Zach and I were working full time. Breakfast was an afterthought. Until I came up with this strawberry smoothie recipe.

I bought a massive bag of Frozen strawberries, a gallon of orange juice, a half pound of white chia seeds, and some vanilla protein powder. We had enough to enjoy a smoothie every day of the week. It’s such a healthy alternative to biscuits and bacon, and it’s cheap. The chia seeds are a great source of fiber, and the protein powder is a tasty way to get more protein. It seriously covers everything.

Zach would scramble up some eggs, and I would make the smoothies. It worked as well as it sounds. And it took less than 10 minutes to prepare breakfast. And it was delicious. Win, win, and win. I’d also like to take a second and brag on my husband’s impeccable egg preparation skills. You’ll never enjoy fluffier or more perfectly salted scrambled eggs. One of the many reasons why I married him.

I’m aware it’s a painfully easy meal to imagine and execute, that’s the point. When I realized the golden nugget that I had found, I jumped for joy. So give it a try and let me know what you think.
